Greenhead, you seem to think it is a simple thing to keep every thread free of bashers and only allow the "know what they are talking about constructive critism posters" to add content to any particular thread but the truth is that is nearly impossible and not to mention subjective, who is to say what criticism is good and what criticism is bad.
Last Thursday and Friday there were over 300 active threads each day in the college basketball forum with at least 90% being picks threads from posters wishing to share their knowledge. All the moderators can do is keep out the bashers and abusers, there is no way to critique every pick in every thread. Whenever we see curteous constructive criticism it is always encouraged, that cannot be said about any profane insults or childish namecalling that occurs when a small percentage of posters decide they don't like someone posting a pick that they may happen to have played the other side of. Abusive posting is what we work at all day trying to keep out of the sport forums, not curteous, intelligent and well expressed constructive criticism.
The Rx. moderators definitely do not look at fairly worded construtive criticism as something that needs to be edited and it is always allowed to stand. What does get edited is stalking, namecalling and profane criticism of a handicappers thread. Sure some of the older posters have moved on but that is just the nature of these forums and many other businesses - clientle changes everywhere including the posting base of gambling forums. Today's sports forums here at The Rx. are highly successful and very popular, the club house days of 2001 and 2002 are gone and there is nothing you or anyone else can do about it. Back then 60 or 65 active threads on a big game day was considered extremely busy, now on a day like yesterday with almost no games at all on the schedule we still had 127 active threads in The College Hoops Forum.
No one is trying to pad numbers, posters register and want to post their selections, who is to say they are winners or losers? Anyone (newbies included) with an ounce of intelligence should know enough to not just log in and follow the first poster whose thread they open up. The Rx. has worked hard to create and maintain The Tracker Forum so newbies and veteran posters alike can see the long term records of many of our handicappers. Finding winners on the internet for free is not easy and never a guaranteed thing, non handicappers have to make their own decisions on which handicapper they want to follow and should perform due diligence beforhand if they decide to follow a particular capper.
